SQI Flash From SST Honored With EDN Innovation of the Year Award
SST 26 Series SQI Flash Family Features Low Pin Count and
Enhanced Serial Interface Architecture for Execute-in-Place (XIP) Applications

  April 15, 2009
SUNNYVALE, Calif., APRIL 15, 2009 — SST (Silicon Storage Technology, Inc., NASDAQ: SSTI), a leader in flash memory technology, today announced that its 26 Series Serial Quad I/O (SQI) family of 4-bit multiplexed I/O serial interface flash memory devices has won an Innovation of the Year Award from EDN Magazine. The 26 Series SQI family received the honor in the Logic and Interface ICs category. This marks the second consecutive Innovation of the Year Award for SST and the company's fourth nomination as a finalist. Now in its 19th year, the EDN Innovation of the Year Awards program recognizes unique, state-of-the-art electronics products in several categories. "It's become increasingly clear that system designers working with parallel flash memories are looking for comparable performance with the low power, small footprint advantages that serial interface devices such as the 26 Series SQI can provide," said Rick Nelson, EDN's editor-in-chief. "It's those reduced size and power consumption advantages without sacrificing performance that undoubtedly prompted EDN readers and editors to select the SST device as the winner in the 'Logic and Interface ICs' category. I congratulate all of the winners on the great work they did in 2008." "We are thrilled that for the second straight year an SST product has been honored with an Innovation of the Year Award from EDN," said Bing Yeh, president and CEO, SST. "From our founding date in 1989 through today, SST has remained committed to providing semiconductor products with exceptional quality, reliability and innovation, and we are proud to have our efforts recognized by EDN and the industry."
